The 2009-dated coin’s reverse design depicts an iconic image of a young koala sitting on a tree branch. The frosted design, which incorporates the Mint’s traditional "P" mintmark, appears on a unique "shimmer" table.
The obverse of each coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II and the 2008 year-date.

Mintages
No mintage limit applies to Australian Koala silver bullion coins for 12 months. However, production will close at the end of 2009, when The Perth Mint will declare each coin’s official mintage.
