The most popular gold coins from Russia are the gold Roubles - usually in 5, 7.50, 10 and 15 Rouble denominations all with gold proof 900. These coins are favourites amongst collectors and investors since many of them disappeared during the Russian Revolution, WWII and seventy plus years of communism.
5 Rouble gold coins were issued by the Rommanovs 1897-1911 and 10 Rouble gold coins 1898-1911. 7.50 Rouble and 15 Rouble gold coins are often considered one of the rarer Roubles around. Very few exist as the majority did not survive the Russian revolution and 70+ years of Communism. Minted for one year only – 1897.
